Williston Basin Oil Photography
“Williston Basin Oil Photography” by Clint Whitmer will be exhibited at the James Memorial Art Center August 1 – 13, 2010, with a special showing Monday, August 9, 5:00 to 8:00 PM
Clint challenges the viewer to look beyond conventional oil patch scenes. He seeks to portray beauty in the rigs and the scenery that surrounds them. His photographs include pictures taken at sunrise, sunset, night time and winter.
James Memorial Art Center is located at 621 First Avenue West in Williston. The Gallery is open Tuesday – Friday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM and on Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. The exhibition is free and open to the public.

Held at Williston State College. Kids will be able to create their own town, go behind the scenes at local businesses, and meet local entrepreneurs and civic leaders! Indian Arts Showcase
Held from 10 am - 5 pm both days at Fort Union. The Indian Arts Showcase will feature special presentations by members of the tribes from the upper Missouri Valley. There will be traditional Native American singing and dancing groups performing, as well Native Artisans displaying traditional arts such as beadwork, quillwork, hide work, pipe making, and drums. Mercy Medical Center’s Children’s Health Fair
9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Raymond Family Community Center. Approximately 250 third grade students from District 1, District 8, Home School, Trinity, St. Joseph’s, and Trenton schools will be attending. Throughout the day, they will attend 16 interactive and informative booths to participate and learn about safe and healthy lifestyle choices. Local agencies that have collaborated with us on this initiative include ND Highway Patrol, Upper Missouri District Health Unit, Community Action/Region I Safe Communities, Montana-Dakota Utilities, Williston Fire & Ambulance Department, and Williston Public School District and various departments from Mercy Medical Center.

Williston's 3rd Annual Out of the Darkness Walk for Suicide Prevention is Saturday, September 18th in Spring Lake Park at the Keel Boat.
