The Government Affairs committee strives to be informed of city, county, and state issues. This core
working group recommends policy and positions of the Chamber on the local, state and federal levels. This committee reviews legislation and regulations and recommends positions the Chamber should take on given issues. The GAC also coordinates and plans any “legislative action days” in Bismarck or candidate/officials visits to Williston, and plans and executes candidate forums during elections as well as member exclusive Eggs
& Issues Breakfasts.

The Government Affairs committee strives to be the unified voice of the Williston Area Business Community. It develops and promotes policy positions on critical issues impacting businesses int he area and to advocate on their behalf to all levels of government. We stand to:
- Strive to take an active role in attempting to influence government in suppor of or in opposition to business legislation that will impact our members.
- Promote policy prioirities that support the expansion of business and protects employers
- Supports a fair and equitable tax burden with no undue taxes on busines
Overall, the Chamber endeavors to advocate for a business-friendly environment.
