Leadership & Education
The L&E committee plans and oversees all of the educational programs sponsored by the Chamber. These include Leadership Williston, Lemonade Day, Teacher Appreciation Reception, and any other educational programs which could benefit Chamber Members. The primary function of the L&E committee is educational and professional development, and seeks to bring quality programs and value to our members.
Chair: Sarah Johnson, Western Cooperative Credit Union
Vice-Chair: Tim Pulliam, KUMV TV
Leadership Williston was developed and implemented by the
Chamber of Commerce’s Partners in Education and Leadership Committee “To Train
and Empower Williston’s Future Leaders.”
Using the community as a classroom, candidates
participate in critical Issue Days led by community experts in a variety of
formats, including panel discussions, tours, presentations, and hands-on
workshops. Planned sessions will cover Leadership Skills, Ethics, Public
Speaking, County and City Government, Education, Agriculture, Health and Human
Services, Law Enforcement and Judicial Systems, Media, Legislative Process and
Political Involvement, Tourism, Arts and Leisure, Natural Resources and
Economic Development.
Leadership Williston may be just the tool to
accomplish many of your personal and professional goals. Newcomers to the area
and long time community members participating in the program both comment that
they are enlightened beyond expectation and equipped to become a part of the
solution to the many challenges that face our community. LW concerns itself not
only with “what you know” but also with “who you know.” That winning
combination moves many important projects from concept to reality.
