Williston, ND, November 27, 2017:
The Williston Area Chamber of Commerce held its
23rd Annual Holiday Lights Parade on Friday, November 24th
along Main Street. The parade started at the Chamber, ended at Harmon Park, and
featured 33 floats decorated to the theme of Winter Wonderland. The Williston
Fire Department carried Santa on a fire truck past over 4,000 parade goers as
the finale. Following the parade, Williston Parks & Recreation turned on the
holiday lights in Harmon Park.
City Administrator David Tuan, City Commissioner Tate Cymbaluk, and Williston
Herald Editor Jamie Kelly, judged the floats on use of lights, originality, and
use of theme.
The 23rd Annual Holiday Lights Parade float winner is Prairie
Rattlers Motorcycle Club receiving 80 out of 90 points. In 2nd place
with 79 points is Mountrail-Williams Electric Cooperative. Tied for 3rd
place are American State Bank & Trust and Williston Home & Lumber with
74 points.
“On behalf of the Chamber, I want to congratulate the winners for their
effort in creating such fantastic floats. Thanks to all the businesses that
participated, the city police department, fire department, and our volunteers
who helped block the roads, we were able to have another very successful parade
