Press Release - Lemonade Day
Mayor Klug Proclaims June
16, 2018
Lemonade Day in Williston
[Williston, ND]
– On Tuesday, March 13th
Williston
Mayor Howard Klug proclaimed June 16, 2018 Lemonade Day in Williston for the Fourth
consecutive year. More than 175 youth throughout the community are expected to
participate by setting up their lemonade stands across the city.
Lemonade Day is a free community-wide program brought to
Williston by the Williston Area Chamber of Commerce. It introduces youth to
entrepreneurship by teaching them how to start, own, and operate their own
lemonade stand. After youth have completed the Lemonade Day curriculum, they
are prepared for the real-world experience of owning their own lemonade
business. Youth are encouraged to spend some, save some, and share some of
their profit by giving back to the community that has supported them.
More than 30 sponsors have teamed up to bring
Lemonade Day to Williston including, Whiting Oil & Gas, KUMV-TV,
Mountrail-Williams Electric Cooperative, API-Williston Basin Chapter, United
Way of Williston, Williston Herald, KLE Construction, ONEOK, and many others.
On Lemonade Day our youth will start new businesses all
across the Williston Area – on a single day. The entire community has an
important role to play in supporting kids. Whether you’re mentoring a youth,
hosting a stand, or purchasing lemonade everyone can be involved in supporting
our young entrepreneurs.
