A Milestone Celebration (previously named Ribbon Cutting) is the ceremonial opening of a:

  • Brand-new business

  • Newly renovated business

  • Relocation

  • Groundbreaking anniversary

  • Or other major milestones for a business

*You must be a current Chamber Member in good standing (dues paid) for the Williston Area Chamber of Commerce to participate in your Milestone Celebration.

Benefits of a chamber
Milestone Celebration:

We will:

- Invite the community, elected officials, local media, Chamber Board of Directors, Ambassador Committee, and our members

- List your event on our Facebook page and website

- Include event in Chamber Newsletters

- Livestream the event on social media and provide video footage

- Provide a welcome speech and congratulations

- Bring the BIG SCISSORS and branded ribbon

- Take photos of your event

- Create a Press Release

- Be available to assist you with questions

what should you do:

  1. Designate a contact person

  2. Schedule your Milestone Celebration

  3. Give a quote for a press release, or write your own, and send it to the
    Chamber

  4. If you have designed a promotional flyer, send it to the Chamber

  5. Finalize details prior to promoting the event, ensure the Chamber and business are on the same page

  6. Share posts highlighting event on social media

  7. Invite clients, employees, friends, family, and past, present, and future
    customers

  8. Order banners and signage, if you choose

  9. Consider offering branded giveaway items or having door prizes

  10. Designate a speaker/speakers for the event

  11. Consider giving guided tours, product demos, etc., if possible

  12. Food and beverages are not required but are recommended, as they
    add a nice touch

  13. Send a thank you to those that attended

Chamber Events

 FAQs

  • Begin the conversation approximately 2 months prior to the Milestone Celebration. This allows the Chamber to confirm the date, add it to the calendar, and share it with members.

  • Milestone Celebrations are best on Mondays-Fridays, 10:00-3:00pm.

    The Chamber is NOT able to assist with Milestone Celebrations on the weekend or after 5:00pm.

  • The Chamber cannot guarantee the number of attendees. Multiple factors play into how many guests will attend. You are welcome to require attendees to RSVP if you choose.

  • The Williston Area Chamber of Commerce has an expansive list of recommended vendors you could contact for your event. Check out our WACC Verified Vendors webpage to find out more!

  • We recommend a 3-5 minute speech. This can be an overview of the business, steps you’ve taken to prepare for this day, and an expression of gratitude.
